LIBRARY

        Loyola Institute of Technology Library, established in 2003, serves as a vital academic resource center for students and faculty members. The library houses 35,235 volumes and 11,956 titles of text and reference books across various disciplines. It subscribes to 108 national and international journals and magazines, along with 4 leading newspapers, ensuring access to updated academic and general knowledge resources. The library follows an Open Access System, enabling easy access to learning materials for UG and PG students as well as faculty members. It consists of several dedicated sections including the Reference Section, Textbook Section, Book Bank, Competitive Examination Books Section, Student Reports Section, Back Volume Section, Journal Section, and an E-Library with internet facilities. The library also extends its services to teaching and non-teaching staff, supporting a comprehensive learning and research environment within the institution.

          Internet facility is available in the library to access e- books, and e-journals, which helps in utilizing current and emerging technology effectively, to Students and Faculty to enhance the quality of Educational activities.

SUBCRIPTION

          The College library is subscribing 108 printedNational and International Journals and Magazines. College also subscribes532Online Journals and Magazines and 500 E-Books to enhance theEducational activities.

AUTOMATION OF LIBRARY

          Loyola Institute of Technology Library is fully computerized using an Auto-lib Library Software Management. Bibliographies are accessible through library OPAC.

BAR-CODED CIRCULATION SYSTEM

          The library uses Bar- coding system for Issue, Return &Renewal of books.

LIBRARY RULES AND REGULATIONS  

GENERAL RULES

  • Library is silent zone. Silence and in front of the library
  • Gathering in front of the library is not entertained
  • Mobile phones and watch alarms should be switched off and put in silent mode before entering the library. Students will be fined if they are found using the cell phone inside the library and the cell phone will be handed over to Administrator.
  • Private books and personal belongings are to be deposited at the entrance
  • Members should report to the librarian the loss borrowing card immediately.
  • While entering the library, student show their college ID card to library staff and make the entry in the gate register.
  • Any printed materials, documents will not be permitted to be taken inside the library.
  • The Librarian has the right to ask users to leave the library, in case they disturb the library atmosphere.
  • All Library transactions should be through circulation counter only.

  • Books will be issued to the members only on produce of identity card.
  • Reference books and periodicals will not be issued.
  • Members will be responsible for the books issued in their accounts.
  • Library has the right to recall any issued books even before the expiry of due date.

FINE SYSTEM

  • Fine will be collected for the late return of books as follows.
  • Till first 15 days after the due date Rs.5.00 per day

CIRCULATION SECTION RULES

  • Library members should produce the valid ID card whenever they borrow/Return/Renew their books at the circulation counter.
  • Members are not allowed to use other user’s Membership card.

RENEWAL OF BOOKS

  • Student can renew the borrowed for a maximum three times.
  • Books will be renewed only if the title does not attract fine. Reservation and also if it is not renewed three times already.

BOOKS BORROWED

  • The users not bring the borrowed books inside the library unless they want to return them
  • The users should not return the borrowed books on the same day on which they borrowed.
  • Members are held responsible for book/book issued in their cards.

LOSS OR DAMAGE

  • Members should check the book thoroughly for missing pages,chapters, pictures, index etc. while borrowing the books from the library.
  • Books in damaged conditions will not be accepted from the members.
  • Members who have lost the books should replace the latest edition of the same titles or else should pay double cost of the book.
  • The borrower alone is permitted to return the books and get back his/her card.
