LIBRARY
          Loyola Institute of Technology Library was established in 2003. It has 35178 Volumes and 11946 Titles of Text and Reference books on various disciplines. The library subscribes 96 National and International Journals and Magazines also 04 leading newspapers. The library is following the Open Access System and provides its service to meet the requirements of UG, PG students and also Faculty members of the College. LIT Library has various sections such has Reference section, Textbook section, Book Bank, Books for Competitive examinations, Students Reports Section, Back Volume Section, Journal Section, e-library with internet facilities etc.  Library also extends its facilities to the students, faculties, and non-teaching staffs.

INTERNET
          Internet facility is available in the library to access e- books, and e-journals, which helps in utilizing current and emerging technology effectively, to Students and Faculty to enhance the quality of Educational activities.
SUBCRIPTION
          The College library is subscribing 96 printed National and International Journals and Magazines. College also subscribes 532 Online Journals and Magazines and 500 E-Books to enhance the Educational activities.
AUTOMATION OF LIBRARY
          Loyola Institute of Technology Library is fully computerized using an Auto-lib Library Software Management. Bibliographies are accessible through library OPAC.
BAR-CODED CIRCULATION SYSTEM
          The library uses Bar- coding system for Issue, Return & Renewal of books.

Library Services
          Library offers the following Services to its readers
Reference Services:
The Library’s Textbook and reference section is located in the Ground floor. It consists of Back volume of Journals, Students Reports, Encyclopaedias, and other reference books in the domain of Technical education. The accesses NDL web portal have enabled in collaboration with UGC. Faculty members, UG and PG students can avail Digital library services.
Reading Services
The Loyola Institute of Technology library has a well-equipped reading room with seating capacity of 100 users. Users can access Web-based OPAC (Online Public Access Catalogue) anywhere in the campus through Intranet. The reference, periodical and current awareness sections also function from room for reader’s convenience.
Circulation Services:
The book borrowing facility is available for the faculty members, current students and staff members of the college. Student can borrow at most three books and faculty members can borrow at most Six books depending on the availability of the same in the library,
Digital Library Services:
          Digital Library Service is accessible to Students and Faculties of this College. It provides links to thousands of e-journals, e-books, e-theses, e-learning materials, and e-contents for subjects, etc.
 
 
LIBRARY RULES AND REGULATIONS
GENERAL RULES
  • Library is silent zone. Silence and in front of the library
  • Gathering in front of the library is not entertained
  • Mobile phones and watch alarms should be switched off and put in silent mode before entering the library. Students will be fined if they are found using the cell phone inside the library and the cell phone will be handed over to Administrator.
  • Private books and personal belongings are to be deposited at the entrance
  • Members should report to the librarian the loss borrowing card immediately.
  • While entering the library, student show their college ID card to library staff and make the entry in the gate register.
  • Any printed materials, documents will not be permitted to be taken inside the library.
  • The Librarian has the right to ask users to leave the library, in case they disturb the library atmosphere.
  • All Library transactions should be through circulation counter only.

  • Books will be issued to the members only on produce of identity card.
  • Reference books and periodicals will not be issued.
  • Members will be responsible for the books issued in their accounts.
  • Library has the right to recall any issued books even before the expiry of due date.
FINE SYSTEM
  • Fine will be collected for the late return of books as follows.
  • Till first 15 days after the due date Rs.5.00 per day
CIRCULATION SECTION RULES
  • Library members should produce the valid ID card whenever they borrow/Return/Renew their books at the circulation counter.
  • Members are not allowed to use other user’s Membership card.
RENEWAL OF BOOKS
  • Student can renew the borrowed for a maximum three times.
  • Books will be renewed only if the title does not attract fine. Reservation and also if it is not renewed three times already.
BOOKS BORROWED
  • The users not bring the borrowed books inside the library unless they want to return them
  • The users should not return the borrowed books on the same day on which they borrowed.
  • Members are held responsible for book/book issued in their cards.
LOSS OR DAMAGE
  • Members should check the book thoroughly for missing pages, chapters, pictures, index etc. while borrowing the books from the library.
  • Books in damaged conditions will not be accepted from the members.
  • Members who have lost the books should replace the latest edition of the same titles or else should pay double cost of the book.
  • The borrower alone is permitted to return the books and get back his/her card.
